I have few ideas about what occupation would suit me.   I need to… 1. Consider what interests me in a job and get a list of occupations that match those interests [e.g. selling, caring for people, shaping metal] 2. Consider the skills I have already and get a list of occupations where those skills might be useful [e.g. solving problems, calming people down, planning in advance] 3. Explore occupations where my favourite subjects would be of some relevance [e.g. history, life sciences, maths] 4. Explore occupations where I could wear the sort of clothes I like and have the professional image I prefer [e.g. suit, uniform, informal dress] 5. Consider the work activities [e.g. repairing things, designing, role playing] involved in different occupations, and get a list of those I like 6. Consider the environment in which I'd be working and whether I would like that or not [e.g. office, factory, shop, hospital] 7. Think about what I want to work with [e.g. metal, wood, electricity, food] who I want to work with , [e.g. young people, animals] what sector I want to work in [e.g. insurance, forestry, armed forces] and get a list of relevant occupations
