Who are they and what do they do? A telecommunications worker does the less qualified work laying lines and installing equipment or the maintenance of them.

What are the activities of the job? Laying lines involves trench digging. S/he also assembles and paints racks, winds cables on or off spools, assists in repair and does simple repair-work on his/her own.

Where is it done and under what conditions? In an open air environment, where varying weather conditions must be expected.

What tools/equipment do they use? Hand tools, painting gear, spades, mechanical diggers, mobile phones, etc.

What do you need to succeed? On the job training or a specific course.
