medical laboratory assistant (medical laboratory technician):

Who are they and what do they do? Medical laboratory assistants test samples of blood, urine etc. from patients in a hospital or similar medical laboratory.

What are the activities of the job? Checks samples of blood, urine, and other biological samples from patients, tests and analyses them, and prepares a report for the doctor or others requesting it. Also analyses toxic compounds. In certain cases they may take the samples from patients themselves.

Where is it done and under what conditions? In the laboratory. Some contact with chemicals is inevitable.

What tools/equipment do they use? Normal laboratory equipment, sample bottles etc.

What do you need to succeed? You need a certificate of secondary education, a systematic approach to work and concentration.
