What are the activities of the job? Prepares castings of sculptures, relief works and similar objects from various metals, surface-finishes them and assembles more complex objects (e.g. church bells). S/he prepares moulds for them. S/he renovates metal objects of historic value. S/he maintains the machinery and equipment used.

Where is it done and under what conditions? In a workshop environment. Dust and dirt, high temperatures and contact with chemicals may be expected.

What tools/equipment do they use? Melting and casting equipment, moulds, hand tools and other aids.

What do you need to succeed? You need vocational training, concentration, practical skills, creative aptitude and a sense of the aesthetic.
