Who are they and what do they do? Mine ventilation technicians design and manage works on mine ventilation to reduce dust and gases and to regulate air flows in mines.

What are the activities of the job? S/he designs mine ventilation systems, including also systems for reading off the necessary quantities. S/he manages and controls work to provide for fire and blast prevention.

Where is it done and under what conditions? In both underground and open cast mines, where you will find a considerable level of noise, dust and dirt, and where there will be shift work as well.

What tools/equipment do they use? Information technology, other office equipment and measurement technology.

What do you need to succeed? You need a certificate of secondary or higher education, or a university degree, a systematic approach to work and technological aptitude.
