mining air control technician:

Who are they and what do they do? The mining air control technician carries out tasks in connection with the removal of dangerous gases and with mine air conditioning.

What are the activities of the job? Maintaining acceptable temperatures, measuring the concentrations of gases in the mine, determining what has to be done to ensure degasification and maintain good air conditions; also checks how the work is being carried out.

Where is it done and under what conditions? Underground or in strip mines, in a dusty, noisy and dirty environment, with shift working.

What tools/equipment do they use? Computers and other office equipment, measuring/analytical instruments.

What do you need to succeed? You need to have completed secondary education, have systematic work habits and be technically inclined.
