Who are they and what do they do? The task of construction site manager is to manage and organise construction work. S/he is responsible for the construction work on the site and seeing that it complies with the technical documentation.

What are the activities of the job? Assigning workers to different construction jobs, coordinating construction contractors and their subcontractors, deciding how to use machines and other equipment, ensuring the supply of materials, checking its quality and quantity, - managing and controlling working procedures and ensuring the building work progresses smoothly- making technical decisions about individual construction operations - deciding what to do in the case of an emergency that might lead to failure to proceed in line with the technical documentation - meeting building contractors and sub-contractors to discuss the course of construction work and any required changes, - checking that the construction complies with the drawings and documentation, and that the work is keeping to time schedules and reaching the necessary milestones, taking timely measures to catch up with delays, if any, quality control of construction work (masonry, roofing, plumbing, decorating, etc.), reporting on the progress of the construction, keeping the construction site log book, supervising workers to ensure they obey health and safety rules.

Where is it done and under what conditions? Directly on site, with only a small amount of time in an office, so you must expect changing weather conditions, and a dusty and dirty environment.

What tools/equipment do they use? Current office supplies and equipment.

What do you need to succeed? You need to have graduated from a civil engineering faculty, higher secondary vocational education/training with a matriculation certificate, have organisational skills, and be able to make quick and correct judgements, exercise authority, be consistent, and able to work in a team.
