Who are they and what do they do? The stage designer prepares the design of stage settings in the theatre, or for musicals and films, i.e., designs of costumes, the stage set, including the necessary technical details.

What are the activities of the job? The stage designer draws up design sketches for sets or costumes etc., selects necessary materials and objects and compiles a list of necessary purchases. His/her work is based on the script of the relevant theatrical play, musical or film and on the director's requirements. The stage designer cooperates with the electrician and with workshops where his/her projects are implemented.

Where is it done and under what conditions? Mostly at theaters and studios.

What tools/equipment do they use?Writing and drawing tools and equipment, information technology. Sometimes small scale models may need to be made of the designs.

What do you need to succeed? You need to have completed an artistic university education and to have creative abilities.
