Who are they and what do they do? The postal worker's duty is to deliver all kinds of mail, incl. money, to people and organisations.

What are the activities of the job? Acceptance and sorting of mail - delivery of letters, postcards and other mail to the mailboxes of private citizens and organisations - and, similarly, delivery of newspapers, magazines and other printed papers - special mail deliveries (telegrams, registered letters, parcels, etc.) - delivery of C.O.D. mail and collection of money from the addressee - money orders and retirement pension payments - sales of postal stationery - collection of regular payments from people and other recipients - acceptance of mail and verifying this acceptance in the case of registered mail - informing users about the postal services offered on request - driving a passenger vehicle or a van, a motorcycle or bicycle.

Where is it done and under what conditions? Mostly outdoors, so changing weather conditions must be expected.

What tools/equipment do they use? These may be a passenger vehicle or a van, a bicycle or a motorcycle.

What do you need to succeed? Vocational training or a course, arithmetical skills, good memory, reliability, accuracy.
