geomechanic technician (mining):

Who are they and what do they do? A geomechanic technician (mining) is a worker who takes part in designing mining activities with an eye to achieving protection against earth tremors and other similar geomechanical phenomena.

What are the activities of the job? S/he proposes necessary preventive measures and activities to ensure protection against these phenomena and s/he also checks if such prevention is carried out.

Where is it done and under what conditions? In underground and opencast mines. A dusty, polluted and noisy environment, as well as shift work, must be expected.

What tools/equipment do they use? Computers and other office equipment, meters.

What do you need to succeed? You need to have completed secondary, higher secondary or university-level education, have the ability to work systematically, and technical aptitude.
