Who are they and what do they do? The harbour guard is a junior officer employed by the port authority, responsible for guarding the port.
What are the activities of the job? Checking if ships in the port have all official papers and related licenses; giving information to tourists; checking for smuggling; communicating with the senior officers if need be; sorting out the problems that arise among the ships in the port.
Where is it done and under what conditions? I In the area of the port. There is usually a small office for the harbour guard but s/he should patrol the outer areas of the port, too.
What tools/equipment do they use? Wireless and other communications technology in order to keep in touch with his/her senior officers, and a whistle.
