Who are they and what do they do? Agricultural advisers provide technical assistance and advice on farming methods and problems.

What are the activities of the job? Keeping abreast of relevant farming methods and problems; advising on ways of raising quality of output, increasing yield and measures to increase efficiency of operations and to conserve natural assets and the environment; organising demonstrations, giving lectures and distributing material to promote adoption of improved practices and techniques.

Where is it done and under what conditions? Mainly in offices or similar rooms and on farms in the open air and on the land.

What tools/equipment do they use? Information technology, telephone, fax, and possibly other office equipment.

What do you need to succeed? You need higher education, with a specialism in agricultural science or farming technology. You also need good communication skills.
