Who are they and what do they do? A printing technician organises printing production, controls and evaluates the quality of printed products (books, magazines, leaflets, calendars, notebooks, etc.).
What are the activities of the job? He/she arranges flexible plans for printing production, monitors their fulfilment and the efficiency of the printing production. He/she determines the technological procedures for individual stages of printing production, which are mainly the processing of reproduction materials, printing and finishing treatments. He/she prepares technical documentation, ensures the availability of materials, energy and working tools. He/she is responsible for the functioning of printing machines and devices, for planning and ensuring the repairs, and for ordering spare parts.
Where is it done and under what conditions? In offices as well as printing shops.
What tools/equipment do they use? Computers.
What do you need to succeed? You need at least secondary education in the field of printing and ability to deal with people.
